Christmas in New England

If “White Christmas” is your favorite holiday flick and you dream of finding peace in a relaxing, high-class environment, go north to New England. Vacations in New England are perfect for everyone whether you want to get into some family fun or snuggle up by a fire with your partner.

One of the best parts about spending Christmas in New England is that you’re almost guaranteed to have snow on Christmas. So if you love winter activities including skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sled riding, and more, this winter playland is the place for you. Located in Killington, Vermont, Killington Ski Resort is one of the largest ski resorts around, and the town has fun activities including the Vermont Holiday Festival.

The Stone Hill Inn in Stowe, Vermont is perfect for a romantic holiday. This inn is a small bed and breakfast and each room features a king sized bed, Jacuzzi, and fireplace. There are also a host of packages available, including special ones for anniversaries and wedding proposals. Some of the things to do in the area include visiting the Ben & Jerry’s factory, skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort, indulging your sweet tooth at Lake Champlain Chocolates, touring Cold Hollow Cider Mill, taking a horse-drawn sleigh ride, learning how syrup is made at a sugar house, riding a gondola to the top of Mt. Mansfield for lunch at the Cliff House Restaurant, taking a daytrip to Montreal, shopping at the outlets in nearby Essex, and much more.

If you are more of a city person, spend Christmas in Boston. There are quaint hotels and very chic places to stay throughout the area, each with their own special Christmas events. The “capital of Irish-America” goes all out with themed celebrations around this time of year, the highpoint being a special ball put on by the Irish Cultural Centre. Hold hands with your lover or laugh with the kids as you ice skate at the Frog Pond in Boston Commons, or see the classic “The Nutcracker.” Boston is filled with amusing places to go and things to see, especially when everything is blanketed in beautiful snow.
